GBI continue sells the feed wheat and barley to cattle breeders and livestock owners through all its branches all over Iraq besides selling the barley as a seeds where the sold quantity at 15/11/2011 have reached up to9719 mts of feed wheat and barley for the purpose of planting and the company supply the cattle breeders with this item in collaboration of agriculture departments in the cities according to the agreed Mechanism and cattle numbers for each breeder to grantee equitable distribution of this item in order to deliver the support to all livestock owners .
Worth mentioning that GBI sells the feed barely to livestock breeders at subsidized prices where it supplies the cattle breeders of what they need and according to a document from specialized agriculture department which determine the quantity that must supply to each cattle breeder in coordinate with numbers of (sheep, caws and buffalos)they own ,the support of this sector came from ministry of trade through directions of ministry of trade and by directions of the cabinet presidency because of the importance of this sector to support the Iraqi economy in order to support the national product and including the benefit of the Iraqi citizen who is the consumer of livestock products.

Marketing sites of Diwaniyah and Najaf cities start receiving paddy crop from farmers and peasants for marketing season 2011-2012 and the received quantities have reached up to 439 mts of paddy in its different kinds amber and jasmine
Engineer hassan ismael ibrahim DG OF GBI said that marketing sites of Najaf and Diwaniyah cities have started receiving the first marketed quantities where the marketing season started as usual in Najaf city after the receipt of 246 mts of paddy distributed between the marketing site of alkufa silo which received 133 mts of amber paddy ,12 mts bulk and 121 mts of jasmine bulk paddy while Abu Sakhir paddy silo received 113 mts of paddy ,12 mts of amber bulk paddy in addition to 101 jasmine bulk paddy.
Mr.ismael added that Diwaniyah city as well as start receiving the paddy crop and the marketed quantity in al shimya marketing site have reached up to193 mts distributed to 5 mts of amber bulk paddy besides 188 mts of jasmine bulk paddy.
DG of GBI pointed out that marketing sites of Dhi Qar and Muthanna cities have completed all their preparations to receive paddy for this year.
Worth mentioning that GBI has ended earlier all producers and preparations to success the marketing season and amber rice considered one of rare kinds that grown in the middle and south of Iraq and its distinguished from other kinds because of its good smell and delouse test.

Engineer jassim Mohammed abbas assistance of GBI director general said that high committee for marketing through marketing plan which adopted and obtained the approval of minister of trade Dr. Khairallah Hassan Babiker, has adopted the following specifications in receiving the paddy crop in all its kinds and as fallows:
1- impurities (dust and dirt, vats, seeds, jungles, grain atrophic and empty, crumb) accept up to 2% and without discount 1% for each 1% increase up to 5% after that the crop return to the farmer or the peasant for the purpose of cleaning
this came in order to get a good paddy free from impurities.
As for the red grain Alihuizawa, assistance of GBI director general cleared that it was decided to accept red grain in marketed paddy up to 5% without any deduction and discount 1% for each 1% increasing up to 10% , more than that and at any rate the crop will be return to the farmer or the peasant.
As for the instinct effect ,any marketed quantity contain the effect whether it was alive or dead will be rejected ,as well as, rodents and their droppings.
Engineer jassim Mohammed abbas added that the preparations ongoing in the paddy cities (Najaf, Diwaniyah, Nasiriyah, Samawah) to success the expected marketing season which expected to be start from the first of the next month.
Iraqi amber paddy considered one of the finest kinds of rice in the world but circumstances that surrounding its planting during the past ten years pre- 2003 made its production fall due to the poor water management .

first: alnajaf city which include five sites as fallows:
1-al kufa silo receives bagged and bulk paddy
2- Abu Sakhr silo center receives bagged and bulk paddy
3- Qadisiyah marketing center receives bagged paddy only
4- roofs of Horizontal Najaf silo receives bagged paddy only
5. Mashkhab Marketing site receives bagged paddy
Second: Diwaniyah city which include five marketing sites as fallows:
1- marketing site of alshimya silo receives bulk paddy
2- roofs of Diwaniya paddy silo receives bagged paddy and bezant of Diwaniya paddy which receives bulk paddy.
3-alameen marketing center receives bagged paddy only.
4-gammas marketing site receives bagged paddy only.
5- Almhenawih marketing center receives bagged paddy.
Third: Muthanna city and include one marketing site in oofs of silo al semawa
Fourth : Dhi Qar city include one marketing center in silo alnsryia roofs .
Mr.abbas added that it was decided to include Dhi Qar city of marketing plan after agriculture and water recourses ministries diction concerning conservation plan coverage of agricultural and formally adopted it, alnajif city considered at the forefront among paddy cities in terms of proud action quantity and quantity.
Marketed quantities of paddy have reached to 83 thousand mts last year in one of the worst agricultural seasons which have passed the country's decades-long.

GBI adopted integral marketing plan to receive the paddy crop for season 2011-2012 that coordinate with amounts of paddy quantities which expected to be marketed by farmers and peasants and the company has completed all procures and steps in order to success the marketing plan and according to the instructions and directions

Director general of GBI revealed that Minister of trade Dr. Khairallah Hassan Babiker approval has been achieved on paddy marketing plan for season 2011-2012
Engineer hassan ismael ibrahim said that the plan which has been adopted include specifications, prices, instructions and adopted marketing sites in the cities covered by paddy planting this year.
He cleared that the instructions prevent receiving imported paddy and spilled outside of the border and at any percentage
Mr.ismael added that the company completed all measures and steps that would lead to the success of the marketing season.

Marketing department related to GBI is continue supplying the private and local mills with wheat which included within ration card items that have reached up to1213143 one million and two hundreds and thirteen thousand and one hundred and thirty –four in all its kinds during the last three months July, August and September and according to the determinant mixture.
DG of GBI said that the company was able to equip the amount of 324.042 thousand MTS of imported rice to the food agents Distribute it within ration card items.

As for paddy process in private and local mills Mr. ismael cleared that the company is continues the paddy processing and the quantities of provided paddy to be processed in the private and local mills have reached as fellows :
(4579,902) mts of Paddy provided to be processed in the private mills and 1242,902 mts of rice was produced

Engineer jassim Mohamed abbas assistance of GBI director general said that supervision teams related to auditing and supervision department of GBI visit all sites related to GBI all over IRAQ cities during the last period through inspection ,supervision and filed tours
he added that these tours came to deal with negatives and obstacles that may occur during the work and they included silos, mills, complex warehouses and rice storages by working on examining samples of available grain in these sits besides visiting um_qaser port southern of IRAQ
he cleared that the department is working according to prepared plan which include visits of supervision teams to the sits in the cities on a regular basis two months each time, while Baghdad sites visited monthly, these visits came within central directions to review on the workflow firsthand .
worth mentioning that GBI have 18 branches besides Baghdad and they distributed in the cities as fallows 38 silos,7 paddy silos, 3 mills in addition to 118 warehouses and 153 bunkers .

Engineer hassan ismael ibrahim dg of GBI said that approval has obtained to purchase 30 thousand mts of southern American rice (argwayana or Argentine) to promote and secure the share of ration card items for the coming months.
He added that purchase award was for saif international company.
Mr.ismael pointed out that Iraq is continuing to secure a large amount of grain especially rice.
He cleared that Iraq consumed 103 thousand mts of rice monthly and rice secured through importing as the lack of local rice produced annually which doesn't cover the need of almost half a month

GBI ended the marketing season of wheat and barely crops in all IRAQ cities and they all down from the last year with limits reached to 139620 mts of wheat besides 285000 mts of barely where the marketed quantities of wheat in all its kinds have reached up to 1735645 mts ,as well as, 153547 thousand mts of barely till preparation of news ,wassit city was in the lead among other cities in terms of marketing with quantity reached to 235218 thousand mts because of the great decline witnessed by Nineveh city as a result of the bad weather circumstances ,as well as, the delay of crop irrigation in the most northern agriculture areas finally and the company had received 1875256 mts of wheat last year in addition to 438474 mts of barely
Mr.hassan ismael ibrahim al_amiri dg of GBI and chairman of high committee for marketing said that the committee decide stop marketing in all the country cities.
He added that the company started its marketing season at 2/5/2011 in southern and middle Euphrates cities (kut,miyssan,besra,nasryia,muthanaa) and at 5/5/2011 in cities (holly najif, holly karablaa,diywina,wassit besides to the marketing sites in Baghdad ,as well as, at 10/5/2011 in (alanbar,salhaldeen)cities and at20/5/2011 in (kirkuk and Nineveh )cities while the marketing season begin at 1/6/2011 in Kurdistan cities.
This disparity came at the beginning of the marketing season because of the maturation of wheat which begin in the south and end in the north of the country ,Mr. al_amiri revealed that total marketed quantities have reached up to 1735645 mts of wheat in all its kinds.
He reviewed during his speech that marketed quantities have decreased about 139611 thousand mts from last year and this come as a result of bad weather conditions in the northern agriculture areas.
He cleared that if we reviewed the total of what has been marketed in the middle and southern cities (kut,miyssan,besra,nasryia,muthanaa,diywina,hollynaijif,karblaa,bablyion ) we find the marketing sites have received about 543406 during this season with an increase up to 39940 mts from last year While The marketed quantities of the marketing sites in the cities of (salhaldeen, Nineveh, kirkuk ,sulymina,arbeel, dhouk) have reached up to 879020 mts and the production decline in these cities about 255630 thousand mts from last year.
the cities which achieve increase in their production from last year (Baghdad ,alanbar ,dyalaa ) as they marketed 313219 mts of wheat for this season with up unfulfilled 76079mts while the received quantities have reached up to237140 mts of wheat last year for the same cities

A Number of wheat marketers in sulaimaniya city have complained from the delay they face during their review to deliver wheat crop to sulaimaniya marketing site demanding the government of the region to absorb the momentum and the delay during the grain delivery through the expansion in building of warehouses and silos.
Mr.khaled al-hamid mahmoud manger of Sulaimaniya branch related to GBI said that one of the delay reasons is the lack of storage capacities in the city ,especially that sulaimaniya city is the only city in the country that doesn't have a silo to store grain and he cleared that rehabilitation and maintenance of the silo become an essential need to take advantage of storage capacity particularly that received wheat stored in opened yards and that make us feel sorry because the local wheat first class have the same specifications of the imported wheat and compete with imported wheat
GBI sulaimaniya branch manger added that Kurdistan regional government made a decision to build three metal silos with 80 thousand mts capacity and one of theses silos will be held in sulamaniya city ,as well as,he pointed out that total expected marketed quantities will almost approach to the marketed quantities last year knowing that marketed quantities last year have reached up to 116008 mts and marketed quantities till this moment have reached up to 103519 mts in all marketing sites.
he draw attention that good cooperation, coordinate and understanding between the public center and the company branch in the region through the attention paid by the company's management to success the marketing season by providing all marketing requirements (technical and human recourses) in addition to coordinate in the wheat transforming processes to the other cities .
Mr. Akram Ahmed Dywina manger of Kirkuk branch related to GBI said that although the marketing season nearing to end and supposed to end at 25/7/2011 according to high committee for marketing decision ,but the work is still continue in the branch on three levels first of them receiving local wheat and barely by marketing sites kirkuk, Riyadh and Hawija ,the received quantities of wheat in its different kind have reached up to 115223 mts besides 2467 mts of barely ,the second level concerning receiving imported wheat from um qaser_port while the third one focus on supplying private and local mills with imported wheat in order to process it to flour to support ration card items

A delegation of GBI visit altahdee company one of the ministry of industry and minerals companies at the invitation addressed to GBI by the company to review on the latest produced equipment by the company mechanical and electricity equipotent which include in GBI need of devices in all its silos all over the country
The delegation was headed by Engineer Jassim Mohamed Abbas ,assistance of director general with membership of engineer Qais Mohammed Saleh manger of engineering department of the company in addition to engineer Saadoun Mutashar manager of electricity branch and engineer taher kamel manger of micinecal branch ,the delegation reviewed about the factories ,as well as, mechanical and electricity products of altahdee company and visit workshops of Rehabilitation large electric motors besides workshops of industry and Rehabilitation electrical transformers and reviewed of the electric wires industry ,as well as, equipment of testing electrical equipment manufactured by the company
During the visit, the agreement between the two companies to extend the bonds of cooperation between them in order to serve the two parties and working to encourage the local industries and qualifications, where GBI delegation addressed the invitation to altahdee company to visit all the company silos to review them about all mechanical and electricity machinery operating in silos of lifts and modern Magnets newly used in the different wheat and rice silos ,as well as, mills related to the company ,as altahdee company shown the desire and the potential in maintenance of these silos and all their equipment besides altahdee company ability to manufacture some of the machinery or spare parts that GBI may need in its work

Saied sadk marketing site related to GBI has been opened in presence of Sulaymaniyah governor and the opening of the site comes according to the directions of Dr. Khairallah hassan Babiker minister of trade
The opening was attended by the Surrogate of Sayed Sadiq and the cultivation manager of Sulaimaniyah ,a well as, the cultivation manager of Sayed Sadeq besides police chief of the judiciary and local wheat crop have been receiving and unloading successfully.
Saied sadeik considered one of the agriculture areas which famous of planting grain particularly in Shahrazour and arabized areas
On other hand, marketing sites related to GBI in kirkuk,mousel,alsulmina,arbeel,dhouk besides al tuz silo are still receiving wheat and barely crops from farmers and peasants after GBI decide stop marketing in the rest of the cities

Mr. ismael added also that marketed quantities in kirkuk city have reached up to 103461 thousand mts of local wheat and 111527 thousand mts of local wheat in almousel city while they reached up to 73333 thousand mts in sulymina besides 88743 thousand mts of local wheat in Arbil city, finally total marketed quantities have reached up to 128566 thousand mts in dohuk city.
Mr, ismael cleared that members of high committee for marketing and according to the Dr. Khairallah hassan Babiker directions are continue to fallow –up marketing in the cities Which are still ongoing of marketing and review on workflow , as well as. overcome obstacles that may occur as a result of the momentum of the work

Four vessels arrived Sequentially to um_qasse port(southern of Iraq )loaded with 191024 thousand mts of American wheat ,Thai and Uruguay rice and after conforming the quantities of the coming cargos to the contractual specifications as, well as, ensure their fitness to the human consumption GBI will distribute them to all company branches and silos all over the country according to a central plan set by GBI in order to provide wheat and rice in each city and according to the actual need of these items in proportion to the population of each city.
Engineer Jassim Mohammed Abbas assistance of GBI director general stated the above adding that the imported quantities to the company were according to the company contracts on C&F and CIF basic where the vessel BINDONESIA arrived to um_qasser port loaded with 51000 mts of Thai rice and imported from louis dryfouse company, while the vessel happy day loaded with 52500 mts of American wheat imported from Columbia company ,as well as, the vessel pruva tr loaded with 51030mts of American wheat and imported from louis dryfous company ,finally the vessel parnassos loaded with 36494.64 mts of Uruguay rice and imported from saif international company
Mr. Jassim cleared that the company is working seriously and according to directions of Dr. Khairallah hassan Babiker to grantee arriving imported grain continually ( wheat and rice) in sequence to secure the necessity quantities of theses two items to the company stores in order to provide enough stock to prevent any shortage or delay in distribution of flour and rice within ration card items
On the related level, Mr. Jassim mentioned that received quantities of local wheat have reached up to 1456279 mts while received quantities of barely have reached up to 142498 mts as Kurdistan and western of the country cities are still receiving wheat and barely crops, while wassit city has retained the first place in terms of receipt with a total receipt 235218 mts of wheat in its different kinds although the halt of marketing in wassit city

Wassit city is still forefront mange other cities in terms of marketed quantities with quantity 234174 thousand mts distributed on al_kut silo with 52797 thousand mts and storage complex with 79954 thousand mts besides al_swaira silo with 101423 thousand mts
The marketed quantities in salhaldeen city till today have reached up to 160137 thousand mts distributed on tickret marketing site with 27351 thousand mts ,al sherghat with 8427 thousand mts , samara grain complex with 55778 thousand mts and bieje grain complex with 20801 thousand mts ,finally al_tuz with 18072 thousand mts
The marketing sites of Baghdad have been the third till the preparation of this report with 122561 thousand mts distributed on alrsaf marketing site with 72620 thousand mts, altaji grain stores with 6916 thousand mts,aldoraa marketing site with 15377 thousand mts .kandari silo with26247 thousand mts and alatfieaa silo with 401 mts
Concerning the marketing sites of Kurdistan cities the marketed quantities to the dohuk city sites have reached up to88869 thousand mts besides 2827 mts of barely and they reached up to 71143 thousand mts in arbeel city , besides 37004 thousand mts in Alsellmanah city ,as well as, 78836 thousand mts in Kirkuk city sites .
On the other hand high committee for marketing announced for the date of stopping marketing in dyalaa and alanbar cities besides the Baghdad marketing sites which determined till the end of Thursday 7/7/2011 and this will be a call for all farmers and peasants to speed up deliver their crops before this period and take advantage of it.
Worth mentioning that total marketed quantities in dyalaa city have reached up to 79895 thousand mts while 68861 thousand mts in alanbar city comparing with the marketed quantities last year to nearest period which determined as 27/6/2010where the marketed quantities have reached up to 1203305 thousand mts of wheat in all its kinds for the same day last year

Engineer Hassan Ismael Ibrahim dg of GBI confirmed that endorsement of Dr. Khairallah Engineer Mahdi Hussein al-Zubaidi governor of Wassit said that they decide to build two silos within 2012 plan in the city He added that the building site of the first silo will be in the southern of kut city and mostly will be in Dujailah And the other one will be within Aziziyah area in order to be close to the Aldboni ,alhafrea and Aziziyah farms since we know that these areas characterize of abundant plan besides the farmer takes along time to deliver his crops to the adopted sites of the city (alkut silo, storage complex and al_sawira silo) On the other hand ,mallk kalhaf wadee manger of GBI branch in wassit said that marketed quantities to the three marketing sites of the city have reached up about 232021mts of wheat in all its kinds besides to the 7773 mts of barely . Mr.wadee cleared that the city is working with great efforts in order to stay in the led a mange other cities in terms of marketed quantities and its well known that the storage sites have been filled with wheat which necessity requires to find new storage capacities enough to store maxima amount of wheat, as well as, we were pleased with the city dissection concerning building two silos in the city within 2012 plan and this dissection will serve the city and the country. Mr.nazaim Mohamed ali manger of GBI branch in duhuk city said that marketing sites of the city are still receiving crops from farmers and peasants clarifying that marketed quantities in the three sites(Faida silo, Sheikhan and zahko)have reached up from the date 20/5 till 22/6/2011 to 65664 mts of wheat besides to 2799 mts of barely Mr. Mohamed ALI raveled that silo Faida has fall with wheat and there is hundreds of trucks standing in front of the silo gate waiting their turn to discharge their cargo showing that the average of the trucks (300-400 truck)with different weights He cleared also that marketing situation in the city especially and the whole country in general requires looking for storage sites that can absorb maxima amount of wheat He added that transforming wheat process from the city to the nisryia city have been started and we will continue of this process in order to receive larger amount of wheat He raveled that harvest average in the city has reached to 70% although farms in the mountains still have not harvested yet. ************************************************************** Engineer hassan ismael ibrahim dg of GBI and chairman of high committee for marketing has reviewed the marketing situation of Iraq cities and reasons which led to stop marketing in Babylon and kut cities besides alswaria silo till the end of the day30/6/2011 He said during his meeting with the members of high committee for marketing that marketing in most cities start to retreat and he added that marketing will stay in the other cities till the coming high committee for marketing meeting which will determine the average of the received quantities during this period and a decision will take to stop marketing in dyalaa, alanbar besides Baghdad sites on the light of it Dg of GBI cleared that indicators of Regulatory parties about the company's work during the marketing season were good although the contained observations from the control Which was diagnosed during the tours to the marketing sites conducted by the Director of Audit Department and other teams, so we considered these observations useful and we can use them to evaluate the sites besides its high committee for marketing responsibility. Mr.ismael revealed that marketed quantities of wheat till today have overcome million and two hundreds thousand mts indicating that total marketed quantities have reached up about 232022 in wassit city thousand mts ,as well as, 149442 thousand mts in salhaldeen city and both of them are forefront among other cities in terms of marketing quantities while Nineveh city was in the first lead among other cities last years according to the same terms of marketed quantities with 275063 thousand mts and we notice it marketed 52585 thousand mts of wheat till preparing this report while it marketed for the same period last year 91808 thousand mts. Engineer Hassan Ismael Ibrahim dg of GBI confirmed that endorsement of Dr. Khairallah Hassan Babiker minister of trade has been approved to purchase 132 thousand mts of Thai rice and American rice (Uruguay) to secure ration card items
He cleared that GBI was able to secure theses quantities through Louis Dreyfus and Amiroba companies which considered international companies that deals with Iraq and by 102 thousand mts of thi rice and 30 thousand of American (southern Uruguay) where louis dryfous company will secure 60 thousand mts of Thai rice besides 30 thousand mts of Uruguay rice and Amiroba company will secure 42 thousand mts of Thai rice
Mr.ismael said that ministry of trade has been able to secure ration card items till September of current year and this can be considered as a great accomplishment.
Mr.ismeal added also that GBI announcing tenders continually in order to secure a large amount of grain to provide them within ration card items without delay ,this came within government concern of the ministry work.
Worth mentioning that Iraq consumed amount of rice reached up to 1200 one million and two hundred annually by importing these quantities ,due to the small quantities of locally produced rice and this Attributed to the technical reasons in the forefront of these reasons water scarcity especially rice considered one of the wateriness crops that need a large amount of water along the planting period and till the harvest .
Produced quantities of local rice estimated about 70000 mts and they don’t enough for more than two-thirds share of one month.

High committee for marketing held its 34 session in aldoraa silo headed by engineer Jassim Mohammed Abbas assistant of GBI director where many issues were discussed during the meeting concerning committee work and current marketing season of wheat and barely crops.
He stressed during his speech on the need for communication and coordination between the company branches across Iraq cities and cities boards to promote cooperation between the company branches and the boards in order to provide better services to citizens, especially with regard to the current marketing season which requires mobilize the necessary energies of everyone to success the current marketing season in order to serve the public interest and agricultural sector which needs all support down to the self-sufficiency,espacally with regard to strategic crops (wheat and rice) and he stressed also on the need to make field visits to all marketing sites related to GBI to fallow up marketing process
He added that the attention of all for the marketing season give us a motivation to provide all the facilities and conscription the efforts and necessary capabilities to success this season where he addressed during this meeting that next meetings of high committee for marketing must held in marketing sites related to GBI periodically where the committee will be in contact with marketing process directly to review to all obstacles and problems that might occur during the work.
Worth mentioning that current marketing season of wheat and barely crops had been started in all Iraqi cities in the early days of the current month and the receipt process is being streamlined as receiving sites witnessed marketing a large amount of wheat and last statistic indicate that marketed grain quantities to all marketing sites have reached up 400 thousand mts of wheat in its different kinds

Mr. Mahdi Saleh Al Amri manger of Najaf branch has cleared that storage capacity of the stores which receives the crop have run out and therefore we need additional stores to accommodate all received quantities as the current stores don’t enough for the received grain in the city so we working on transfers process to besra and karblaa branches to overcome the momentum in the branch because of the increased marketed quantities to the branch
Al-Ameri added that increasing the marketing and received quantities require us to reconsider in extending storage capacities of the cities with large-scale production of grains, which would contribute to the absorption of all the marketed quantities to the company stores and that requires coordination between the Ministry of trade and the concerned cities boards in order to promote joint work between the Ministry of trade and its departments in the cities and the local boards to serve the public interest.
He showed that marketed quantities to the city have reached up more than 53000 mts of wheat in all its different kinds besides 493 mts of barely till now and the received quantities in the city have distributed as fallows 15839 mts in al_kufa silo and 5500 mts in Abu Sukhayr silo while total received quantities by Khurnq complex have reached up to 14000 mts and Qadisiyah site has received about 4306 mts ,in addition to the 9516 mts of wheat

Um_qasser port received three vessels loaded with 110565 mts of rice and wheat imported for GBI and this came within the company plane in order to promote the national strategic from theses items and grantee providing them continually in the company stores.
This was stated by Engineer Jassim Mohammed Abbas GBI manager assistance ,adding that the vessels arrived to um_qasser port and they were discharged after conforming the imported grains specifications to the contractual specifications and ensure their fitness to the human consumption as their cargo will be distributed to all company stores all over the Iraqi cities according to the need of each city in proportion to the population density for each.
Mr. Jassim added that arrived quantities have distributed AS 52500 mts of American wheat loaded on the SAMJOHN LIBERTY vessel and 25090 of Argentina rice loaded on the AFRICAN JOY vessel while the vessel QING MEN arrived loaded with 32975 of Thai rice these cargos came within the company imports on CIF.
Mr. Jassim cleared that the company is continue in its plan of importing grain concerning announcing tenders for purchasing grain to secure large amount of (wheat and rice) to promote ration card items and prevent any delay in their arrival to the Iraqi citizen.
Worth mentioning that the company announced during the last days for a tender to purchase 30000 thousand mts of rice for the ration card items and from all international origins in order to cover the need of the country from this item

He added also that GBI is part of the ministry of trade takes on its shoulder providing and securing food for more than 30 million Iraqi people particularly wheat and rice ,as GBI prepared an overall and central plan to receive all local product of wheat in all its kinds and grades to support the local agriculture at the first place and to make use of the local product to enhance the grains stock especially wheat at the second place in order to guarantee providing it continually in the ministry storages.
Mr.Ismael pointed out during his speech that the new policy of ministry of trade aims to guarantee the arrival of ration card items to the citizen continually without delay and we have to make more efforts to carry out the directions of Dr.Hassan kherallah, minister of trade, which aims to achieve the important goal and the expected role from the ministry in this aspect.

He added also that the company’s technical staff confirmed the cargo of the four vessels to the contractual specifications and its fitness to human consumption to discharge them after that and distribute them to all branches and silos of the company across the country and according to the need to each city in order to distribute them continually to the Iraqi citizens without delay

The vessels SAMOS LEGEND & STAR RELIANCE arrived Umm- qasser port loaded with a total of 83677 mts of Australian wheat & Thai rice imported from Louis Dreyfus & the Swiss company Ameropa within GBI imports on CIF &C&F basis .
This came within the statement of Mr.Hassn Ismael Ibrahim ,dg of GBI , adding that the company is working hard to provide wheat and rice as the arrival of the above two vessels is included within the ministry plan to provide the sufficient quantity of wheat to GBI stores to secure the monthly need to process wheat distributed within the rationing card items all over Iraqi cities .
Mr .Ismael has clarified that the cargoes of the two vessels have been distributed by GBI marketing department to all silos &stores of GBI all over Iraqi cities after confirming the fitness of the two cargoes to the human consumption and the contractual specifications.
Mr. Ismael has mentioned that Dr. kherallah Babiker , minister of trade , had instructed to work promptly to execute the contracts already announced by the ministry as regards purchasing wheat to provide it without any shortage as the company is adopting a well – prepared plan to ensure providing a strategic stock of wheat and rice sufficient for the coming months as these items are considered as the basis of the rationing card items and the food of the Iraqi citizen

GBI, one of the ministry of trade companies announced arrival two vessels loaded with wheat and rice to support ration card items.
MR.hassan Ismaeel Ibrahim dg of GBI said that the vessel HARVST MOON loaded with 52500 mts of American wheat imported from ADM company and the vessel ANASSA LOANNA loaded with 41109 mts of American rice imported from ADM company have arrived to um _qasr port after conforming their cargos to the contractual specifications and their fitness to human consumption.
Mr.ismaeel also clarified that marketing department was directed to distribute the two cargos to all Iraqi cities and according to the actual need and population to each in order to grantee providing enough quantities of these two items in the company stores and branches in all cities so as to ensure flew distribution of theses two items within ration card items

Under the auspices of Mr.Muthan Jabar Abdelzahra, DG of GBI, the union committee in cooperation with the Media unit in the company held a big celebration on the occasion of the World Woman Day.
The celebration began with reciting some verses of the holly Koran after that Mr.Mohammed khasim ,manager of the human resources department, addressed a speech welcoming the audience and delivering the greetings of DG and his congratulations in this big occasion and his pleasure for the company initiative .
In his speech ,Mr.Mohammed had referred to the big and pioneer meanings that the woman has as a mother , a wife and a sister or throughout the fields of the work that she took place and her competitive work with the man being a deputy , a minister and a responsible person and before being an engineer and a doctor she was a working woman.
Afterwards, the vice president of the General Union for Foodstuff , Mr.Jassim Mashkoor, addressed his speech at this occasion saying that the woman deserves to occupy the position that she had as the Iraqi society overcame severe circumstances during which the woman was able to prove worthily her ability to undertake the responsibility .
On the other hand ,the speech of the General Union of Foodstuff in GBI was addressed by Mr. Hussain Faysal in which he delivered the wishes of the General Union of Workers for the women to be competent in her day .
The responsible for the Women Organization addressed her speech saying that the Iraqi women had registered a significant presence in the scientific , cultural & social fields which made her play a role in building the country .
The celebration had also witnessed reciting the folk poetry addressed by one of the union personalities .
At the end of the celebration, an elite of creative and significant women had been awarded and the occasion was covered by some TV channels

GBI has confirmed that Umm- qasser port is ready to receive the vessels Berlin loaded with 50 thousand mts of Australian wheat & the vessel B- Indonesia loaded with 52015 mts of American wheat .
Mr. Muthana Jabar Abdelzahra , DG of GBI , said that the two above vessels came within th ecompany CIF imports to secure the maximum amount of wheat .
He also added that the marketing department in GBI had also set a table to distribute the cargo of the two vessels to Baghdad & cities sites to support its wheat stock .
Mr. Abdelzahra has clarified that the instructions of Dr. Kheiralah Bbekir are aiming to secure the maximum amount of the rationing card items throughout the continuous announcement of tenders which has a big impact on increasing the number of the coming vessels during the last days.
DG of GBI pointed out that Iraq has overcome the crisis throughout the three tenders issued last February and the twelve contracts at a quantity of 850 thousand mts of Australian & American wheat which will arrive during this month

DG OF GBI has clarified that Iraq is in good condition concerning wheat and rice purchases, as well as, the rate of the arrived vessels loaded with wheat and rice covers and exceeds a little bit the monthly need of the country. These companies are considered to be well known and trusty in the international market concerning supplying wheat and these coming quantities will promote the local stock and strategic stock of wheat in the company stores and all silos related to GBI distributed all over the country

GBI announced arrival of two vessels (Glory one and kiran asya)loaded With (99,694)mts of American and Australian wheat to support rationing card items
Mr. Muthanna Jabar Abdelzahra, dg of GBI, said that the vessel Glory one arrived to Umm-qasser port loaded with 49.694 mts of Australian wheat while the vessel kiran asya was loaded with 50000 mts of American wheat on C&F basis.
Mr. Jabar added that these two quantities are included within GBI plan to provide the maximum amount of wheat to support the rationing card items as he pointed out to the company's aim to secure a strategic storage as per the instructions of Dr. ,kherallah Babiker minister of trade, who personally and continuously follows the process of improving the rationing card items and guarantee distributing them without delay.
Mr. Abdelzahra also revealed that the company is working to provide wheat and rice throughout announcing tenders continuously to purchase these two items as the latest tender was to purchase 100 thousand mts of imported wheat from all international origins ; he also clarified that the company was able to provide sufficient portions of wheat during the last two months for the next three months throughout contracts to purchase quantities of Australian ,Canadian and American wheat which considered the finest kinds in the world.
Worth mentioning, the company purchases annually millions tons of grain (wheat &rice )to support the rationing card items for more than 30 millions Iraqi citizens . As these quantities are being secured by importing as well as the local marketing from farmers and peasants .
Ministry of trade follows the system of distributing the rationing card which was adopted in the nineties of the last century to provide 3kg. of rice and 9 kg. of wheat per month for each citizen.

His Excellency the prime minister has approved on purchasing 350 thousand mts of wheat imported to the rationing card items to ensure distributing flour to the citizens continuously & without delay.
Mr .Muthunaa Jabber Abedlzahara , DG of GBI, stated the above adding that the two deals will be from two well known origins of high quality to produce the flour that suits the taste of the Iraqi citizen as 200 thousand mts of wheat will be imported from America while the other 150 thousand will be imported from Australia and three international companies specialized in importing wheat ( Clencore,Louis Drayfos and Niyadra ) will take on their shoulder exporting these quantities to the Iraqi ports .
Mr. Jabar added that the importing of wheat & rice is still carried on continuously without any stoppage and there is no delinquency from the ministry or the company to ensure supplying these two basic items and distributing them flexibly & continually to the Iraqi citizen being an essential items in his food.
He also added that the arrival of the vessels loaded with wheat &rice will be according to a plan set up by the ministry and the company to ensure providing these two items in GBI stores permanently to distribute them within rationing card items as it is quite rare that Umm-qasser port has no vessels loaded with wheat &rice to be discharged which comforts the Iraqi people that the ministry is capable of providing its essential food.

GBI has ended the paddy marketing season which started at 10/11/2010 as the total marketed quantities reached up to 83901mts
Mr .Muthunaa Jabber Abdelzahara said that the above quantities had been distributed to the marketing sites in Alnajaf, Diwaniya, Semawa.
He clarified that the total marketed quantity of all paddy kinds in Alnajaf city was 55874 mts distributed to the marketed sites :18730 mts to Abusikher silo ,22103 mts to Kufa silo , 1954 mts to Kufa warehouses,491 mts to the horizontal silo of Alnajaf, 3235 mts to Mishkhab marketing center , 4126 mts to Abasiya marketing center and 5235 mts to Alqadisiya marketing center ; while the total marketed quantity of all paddy kinds in Aldiwaniya city was 26850 mts distributed to the marketing sites : 12528 mts to Shamiya paddy silo, 8061 mts to Alameen marketing center, 3755 mts to Khamas marketing center ,2395 mts to Mahanawiya marketing center and 111 mts to the storing complex; whereas the total received quantities in Almuthana city were 1177 mts.
Mr. Abdelzahra added that the marketing season this year has witnessed a falling back in the marketed quantities compared to last year as a result of the changes carried out by the concerned parties in planting paddy in the abovementioned cities.
He also added that GBI was able to finalize its out standings throughout its financial department as regards the farmers allocations who had marketed this item to GBI sites.
He revealed that the marketing department in GBI will take on its shoulder supplying paddy to the private mills at the beginning of February /2011 as these mills have been contracted with the company according to the announcement of the competitive tender upon which the supplying of these mills will be as per the specified extraction ratio not less than 60% as a minimum or as per the competitive basis which will be adopted in the processing .
He pointed out that some of the paddy quantities have been assigned to the governmental mills to process them in Hilla , Abusikher and Al Shamiya mills as per extraction ratio at 64% as a minimum for Amber paddy and at 62% for the other kinds of paddy .

The vessels Angela star, Iron knight & Apostolos II loaded with 136934 mts of American wheat &rice had arrived Umm-qasser port as per GBI plan to import grains especially wheat which is considered as an important item in the food of Iraqi people.
Mr .Muthana Jabar ,DG of GBI, has stated the above saying that the vessel Iron Knight arrived Umm-qasser port loaded with 52500 mts of the American wheat & imported from Louis Drayfos and the vessel Angela Star was loaded with 51934 mts of wheat imported from the American company Columbia
On the other hand the vessel APOSTOLOS II arrived Umm-qasser port loaded with 32686 mts of American rice imported from ADM as these two shipments are on CIF basis & included within GBI plan to ensure the continuous flow of wheat and rice all over the country .
Mr. Jabar has assured the citizens and recommended them not to listen to the rumors about the lack of wheat &rice in GBI stores as he pointed out that GBI has enough stock of wheat & rice to ensure distributing these two items all over Iraqi cities without delay and to promote supplying them to all Iraqi houses against any fabricated crisis .
He also added that the technical staff of GBI has confirmed the compliance of the cargos of the three vessels to the contractual specifications & their fitness to human consumption to discharge these cargos and distribute them over GBI sites all over the country according to the actual need of each city .

The vessel LOARD BYRON arrived at um_qasr port loaded with (51973)mts of American wheat within GBI imports on (CIF) basis to support ration card items.
This was stated by MR. Muthana Abdelzahra clarifying that the technical and administrative staff of marketing department have prepared a table to distribute the vessel's cargo to promote the stocks of storing sites in the cities as per the actual need for each.
He added also that um_qasser port at the south of Iraq has received before yesterday the vessel (APPLLO) loaded with (49500) mts of Australian wheat as the total quantities have reached up to (101000) mts during the last two days.

As a result of the low marketing levels of the paddy crop for the current marketing season 2010-2011 GBI decided to end marketing the paddy crop in the marketing centers outside at the end of 20/1/2011
Mr. Muthanna Jabar Abdelzahra stated the above adding that this decision came as a result of the reports of high committee for marketing and approval of agriculture managers
Mr. Muthanna said that this step was due to the low marketing levels of paddy crop in the paddy cities ( Al_najaf,Al_ diwainya and Al_semawa) as the countdown of the received paddy quantities to the marketing centers had started .
He also added that the paddy crop marketing will be ended in the silos (Al_samawah silo,Al_kufa silo,Abu sahkir silo and Al_shamyia silo) at the end of 31/1/2011
He pointed out that the agriculture departments and the farm associations should take their part in urging farmers and peasants to deliver their crops before the end of the specified period

According to the directions of deputy prime minister and acting minister of trade mr. Roz Yosif Shawess Ministry of trade purchases 120000 mts of rice in order to distribute them within ration card items.
This statement was by Mr. Muthanna Jabar Abdelzahra dg of GBI ,clarifying that 90 thousand mts of this purchased quantity will be from northern America(Argentina or Uruguay ) origin and this deal came in the framework of developing the ration card items.
On the other hand ,ministry of trade has decided to determine the end of the day 20/1/2011 as the date to stop paddy marketing in the outside marketing sites of the cities (the holly Najaf,Al_ Diwainya and Al_Semawa)which included in the marketing process for the current marketing season 2010-2011

Mr.muthanna jabar Abedlzahra dg of GBI said that thevessel (PANAMAX APPLUSE) loaded with(50) thousand mts of Australian wheat imported from Clencore company as well as the vessel (DIAMOND FALCON)loaded with 14750 mtsloaded Thai rice imported from chayporne company ,these quantities came within the company imports on CIF basis which are expected to arrive during the next two days.
He also added that the marketing department prepared a table to distribute the cargos of the vessels to the company sites in order to distribute them within ration card items and he pointed out that the technical and engineering staff at um_qasser silo are still discharging the cargo of the vessel (SIKYON) which arrived at the beginning of the current year loaded with (30250)mts of Thai rice
Mr. Abedlzahra clarified that the Australian wheat (hard Wight wheat )is the finest wheat in the world and the technical staff in our company are mixing the Australian wheat with local wheat in order to produce a good quality flour which suits the Iraqi baking way ( vertical way)
Ministry of trade fallows a distribution system adopted in the early nineties on the basis of providing a portion to each citizen and as far as GBI work is concerned ,its responsible for providing two basic items ( wheat and rice)with (9)kg of wheat and (3)kg of rice to more than 33 million people because of the lack of local production which doesn’t cover the actual need of the country for these two items.
Worth mentioning ,Iraq consumed large quantities of wheat estimated at 4400000 mts annually as this item takes the first place being the bread an essential item in the Iraqi meals ; while rice came at the second place as the actual need for this item is estimated at 1200000 mts annually

Ministry of trade has sought to support livestock sector in order to encourage the livestock breeders to draw the attention to this aspect and promote the economy by promoting the local product as the company sold barley to the livestock breeders directly at a subsidized price by the general secretariat for the cabinet because it is the second basic item after rice and wheat items in achieving food security .
Worth mentioning, The sold quantities of barely have reached up to(238477)mts as feed to the sheep breeders at (250000) ID during december/2010,the supply to the livestock breeders is carried on according to a document issued by the specified agriculture administration to determine the quantity to be supplied to each livestock breeder as per the number of the cattle ( cows, sheep and buffalo) he has.
On the other hand, the supplied quantities of grain for the same period were as follows (249930) mts of wheat in addition to (87095) mts of rice and a plan has been prepared to distribute the cargo of incoming vessels to um_qasser port which loaded with ( wheat and rice) in order to cover the need of the country sites from these two basic items of rationing card items as the total number of vessels loaded with rice were (3) and (1) vessel loaded with wheat.

Mr. Muthanna Jabar Abdelzahra dg of GBI and chairman of the high committee for marketing headed a meeting (session 23) held at the company headquarter in Baghdad , this meeting was attended by members of the high committee for marketing and many issues have been discussed during the meeting concerning the marketing side of the company work and the current marketing season of paddy crop comparing with the last year season as the chart for the marketing process currently carried out in the cities(Al_najaf,Al_diywina and Al_semawa) have been reviewed .
Mr. Abdelzahra had called for studying the reasons which led to the decline in production of the current year comparing to the production in the last year; and the relevant parties were requested to submit their reports in this regard . statistics indicate that the total quantities received by the company last year have reached up to(109257)mts and the received quantities during the same period last year had reached up to (88000)mts while the received quantities for the same period this year were about (82000) mts
The company had approved to receive the paddy contains red grain( Al_hwezawi)with rate till 12% according to the ex_minster of trade Mr. Safewe Al_dean Alsafi approval , this decision came to support farmers because of the circumstances experienced by the farmers during the sowing period.
Worth mentioning the company had received the paddy crop outside the agriculture plan last year in the cities (Misaan ,Diywaniya and kut) which had marketed a total of ( 27869)mts in addition to (2000)mts of the marketed quantities from ( Dyalaa,karblaa and Babylon ).
It is well Known that the ministry of agriculture had restricted planting paddy to three cities only Al_najaf,Diywaniya and Al_semawa) due to the lack of water resources and bad weather conditions experienced in Iraq .

Gbi had called on private mills owners in (alnajaf,diwaniyah and al_samawah) cities to contact the branches of GBI in these cities to review the participation terms of required specifications for this tender which was prepared by marketing department of the company .

Mr. Abdelzahra had showed that the deadline to present the competitive Offers will be at 15/1/2011and the private mills will be supplied after finished receiving the marketed quantities of paddy crop from farmers and marketers.

His Excellency acting trade minister Dr.safee aldin alsaaffi had conformed on the modification suggested by high committee for marketing of GBI concerning receiving the paddy which contains red grain by 12% (Alihuizawi) from farmers according to a new specifications .
Mr.jabbar ablzahra DG of GBI had stated the above conforming that the ministry of trade is working to present all supports for farmers in their works.
This step came after discussing the request presented by al_najaf city board during an earlier meeting with DG of GBI at company headquarter in Baghdad who showed during this meeting the necessity of supporting the farmer by receiving the paddy for the current season which contains red grain (Alihuizawi) as a result of the difficult conditions experienced by the farmer during the sowing period.

GBI manger had draw attention during his statement that (Australia.canda,as well as, America )stands at the forefront of the wheat-producing countries which produce wheat cant be compared with other kinds of wheat, this one came from red grain family that contain a high levels of gluten which is the basic material in good quality of produced flour and appropriate to bake bread on the Iraqi way .
on a related level, The company made special mixtures from local and imported wheat to produce flour can bake a bread suits the Iraqi test as the experiences had shown at quality control department the good quality of theses mixtures and their appropriate to Iraqi vertical baking ways.
